Close Mozilla Firefox and open up a Terminal and copy & paste the following command:
sudo wget -c http://download.macromedia.com/pub/labs/flashplayer9_update/FP9_plugin_beta_101806.tar.gz tar -xvf FP9_plugin_beta_101806.tar.gz mv /usr/lib/firefox/plugins/libflashplayer.so /usr/lib/firefox/plugins/libflashplayer.7 cp flash-player-plugin-9.0.21.55/libflashplayer.so /usr/lib/firefox/plugins chmod +x /usr/lib/firefox/plugins/libflashplayer.so
Enjoy!
This should work on any Linux flavor

Note to the author : I didn’t need to chmod +x libflashplayer.so

I think you skipped the command that extracts the downloaded tar.gz
tar -xvf FP9_plugin_beta_101806.tar.gz
